Getting up at 4 AM really sucks...

Yeah, my shift this month really sucks and isn't exactly the best for recording with someone who sleeps during the day. I wake up at 4:00 am and wind up falling asleep in my recliner around 9:00 pm or so. This really sucks for me because I'm not a morning person at all. I'd work night shift all year round if they'd let me.

But this is a big factor in why we've been lagging a little behind on episodes and I haven't been posting on here as much.

And speaking of posting on here, this site doesn't give me a "views" statistic so I have no idea if anyone's actually reading this. So leave me a comment just to let me know you're there.

Teacher Bill, Slacker, and I are getting together tonight to record a couple (hopefully 3) episodes. It should be interesting since I've been u since 4 and I'll be all hopped up on Redbull and Hornsby's.

I'm getting really excited about CSTS in Tampa next month. June 21 to be exact. Some other Browncoats and our crew are meeting at the pub next door after the show as well. Go to http://tbbrowncoats.ning.com/ for more info.

I also mentioned on our myspace (www.myspace.com/slackerandtheman) that we're in the process of making our own recording studio. It's a work in progress, and an expensive one at that, so if anyone wants to donate drop us a line at slackerandtheman@hotmail.com :p

Well, I'm off to suffer through another 7 hours of work, like I said drop me a comment and let me know you're there!

Promo work

I had a great idea for a promo today. I still have to run it by Slacker, but hopefully it'll work out.

It's still classified "Top Secret" for now. But I will give you a few clues.
1. It'll feature Slacker, Teacher Bill, Pedophile, and myslef
2. It's sort of a parody song
3. The idea came to me while watching Verminators

We'll get to work on it as soon as I can sell it to Slacker and we can do the recording for it. I really think you guys will dig it. Like I said, we're going to have to record us singing (I know, it sounds scary), find the instrumental for the song, and then put it all together.

We've mulled over the idea of doing parody songs for a while now, and if this one turns out half as good as I think it will you'll see plenty more.

I talked to Teacher Bill earlier today, and we may try and record an episode on Skype tonight. We haven't tried this yet, so we may not get anything usable out of it. And that's only if one of us can get a hold of Slacker and motivate him to join us. And that's a big if...

Colds suck harder than Teacher Bill does at dating

I'm waiting on Episode 13 to upload now, it's our Iron Man episode.

I'm currently fighting a damn cold that my kids gave me. My sinus's are all stopped up and I can't hear or smell a damn thing. But on the bright side I got to come home early and had time to do the post production and upload Episode 13.

Next weeks episode is already in the can, so it'll be up on time next Friday.

So go now to http://www.switchpod.com/users/slackerandtheman/feed.xml and download the new episode! Or even download the rest of them again :p Let us know what you think of the new episode slackerandtheman@hotmail.com or http://www.myspace.com/slackerandtheman

And don't forget our sister show (and I say sister show because they're the bitch of the relationship) Radio Free Junktown. Get them at http://www.switchpod.com/users/basilisk73/feed.xml

Cunning hats and late night recording sessions

Hey guys.

Slacker and I got two episodes in the can last night. We went and saw Iron Man first, so Episode 13 (which will be up on Friday May 9th) is our official Iron Man episode. It'll be good stuff, so you should check it out on Friday.

I being the big fan of the Hero of Canton, have wanted one of the cunning knit Jayne hats. I finally have one. The wife hates it, but I like it :p So from now on, I'll be wearing the cunning hat to all of our live events :p

My first chance to wear it will be in Melbourne on June 7. There's a Browncoat BBQ there on that day. If you're in the area and are interested give me an email (slackerandtheman@hotmail.com) and I'll give you more information. We'll be doing interviews for our Special Edition Firefly episode that will only be available at the CSTS screening in Tampa on June 21.

Don't forget to listen to us on Itunes or http://www.switchpod.com/users/slackerandtheman/feed.xml and check us out on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/slackerandtheman

Take it easy,

The Man

Crackhouse on fire!

Yes folks, this is why you should never pass out while smoking crack.

This is an actual crackhouse burning. I responded to it on Friday night. I'd almost feel bad for them if they weren't crackheads who burnt their own house down.

I worked nights this weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), and I expected it to be really super busy this weekend because of the local prom and Cinco De Mayo. But it really wasn't that bad. Kind of disappointing really. We were steady, but it was all bullshit, nothing really good.

Slacker and I should be recording either tonight or Tomorrow night. As I've already mentioned, I saw Iron Man last week, but Slacker's hopefully going to see it before we record, so the episode will probably be Iron Man heavy.

First Man's Hole Blog

Hey guys. What I'm going to do here is post stuff directly from me to you guys. Instead of from Slacker and I. I'll post my opinions on stuff, do random reviews, and even give you a behind the scenes look at the production of Slacker and The Man.

Speaking of Slacker and The Man, I just put up Episode 12: Spoilerific. So if you haven't checked it out yet, head on over to http://www.switchpod.com/users/slackerandtheman/StMEpisode12.mp3 and check it out. Or get it on Itunes. Slacker and I will be recording a new episode either Monday or Tuesday.

I went to a late showing of Iron Man tonight. And without going into any spoilers, we'll be doing that on episode 13, it was a fucking amazing movie. All of the actors were spot on as their characters, but no more so than Downey as Tony Stark. I don't think there's been a more perfect actor/character match in comic movies since they got Captain Picard to play Professor X. The suits were amazing. And a little hint, make sure you stay until the credits are over.

Don't forget to go to http://www.switchpod.com/users/slackerandtheman/feed.xml and download the show, or do a search for Slacker and The Man on Itunes and get us there. Contact us either at http://www.myspace.com/slackerandtheman or slackerandtheman@hotmail.com

Take it easy guys.
